Hello and happy Monday! Welcome back to another Weekly Insight with me, Wyn, your new elven fortune-teller. They say water and fire don’t mix, but they’ll have to just for us! It looks like we’ll have an emotionally-charged week ahead of us, so let’s dive right in.
Our Cards This Week:

1. What Will Help You?

This position explores the people and circumstances that will aid you throughout this week.
Our first card this week is the seven of hearts upright, and there are a couple of different ways that we can look at this. On the one hand, this card deals with dreams and imagination, as many would love to turn their fantasies into a reality. On the other, it could be seen negatively, as it represents indecision. Either way, the seven of hearts tells us that the future isn’t set; it’s fluid, like the element that rules this suit. The outcome of your vision, be it regarding a creative endeavor, volunteer work, project, or your future career, is up in the air and can be any number of things. It seems that you’ll have a decision to make this week that will affect this, and you’ll respond by making choices based on your emotions rather than logic.
This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you not to, right? Well, you’re wrong!
While logic should play a factor in most of our decisions, it’s also important to listen to our hearts. How do you feel about the situation? Of the choices presented to you, which one do you feel would lead you down the right path? Which one will reward you most for your efforts? Which one will drain you of your time and energy? These are all questions you need to ask yourself when it comes to your future, and your answers this week should be rooted in your desire. Remember, this card is meant to reveal what will help you, and sometimes going astray from logic and paths dictates by others is what will ultimately benefit you. Choose for yourself.
2. What Will Hinder You?

This position contemplates the obstacles you may experience in the week to come.
Our second card of the week is the Jack of hearts reversed–another emotionally-charged card, this time with negative connotations. The Jack (or Knave) of hearts is an enamored person; someone who tends to jump into relationships for the sake of simply having a partner. They’re in love with the idea of love, selecting their partners using chemistry and attraction rather than by the person’s character. For this reason, this person tends to either have many short relationships, on-and-off again relations with a couple of partners, or one long-running stint in a dead-end partnership that is as tumultuous as it is annoying.
It appears you know that person–maybe you’ve developed feelings for them, and are considering asking them out. Maybe they’ve expressed an interest in you, and have began courting you. Or maybe you are that person, and you’re low-key feeling attacked. Hey, no judgement! Love is what we make of it, and it’s different for everybody. So long as you’re content with how you live and hurt no one, then what’s the harm, right?
Well, here’s the harm: the individual that this card represents in your life will be an obstacle for you this week. If they’re a friend, crush, current or even ex-partner, you’re going to want to ask them to give you some space. Take the time you need to focus on you, so that you can make the best decision based on how you feel–you, and no one else.
And if you are the Jack of hearts in your own life, then you need to do yourself a favor and take some personal responsibility. You can’t let anyone influence your decision, no matter how much they beg or nag or bitch. It’s your life, your choice–and that also means that, whatever your decision is, you can’t blame anyone else for the outcome. Have the maturity to stick to your guns and own up to your mistakes. You’ll thank yourself later.
3. What Is Your Unrealized Potential?

This position reveals your unrealized potential in relation to your week and its challenges.
Our third card and final card for the week is the eight of clubs reversed. If it looks familiar, that’s because we saw it last week, upright and in the “help” position. You may recall that this card, while upright, represents one’s ability to adapt to change on the fly. It’s important for you to keep up with the times, to progress with the world around you so that you aren’t left behind. Even reversed, its intent doesn’t change all that much: you need to accept the new things that life throws at you, instead of denying them. Don’t turn a blind eye to these surprises or inconveniences–take hold of them. Study them. As ambitious as you are, you can’t change everything, and you shouldn’t. Embrace the new, accept the consequences; denial only prolongs the inevitable.
This Week’s Insight
The TL;DR, readers, is that you’ll be faced with some decisions this week. Your emotions and desires will both help and hinder you–you need to figure out the right time and method to put your heart on the line. You’re going up against a decision that will affect your future, and you shouldn’t let anyone or anything decide for you. You’ll manage, though, thanks to your passionate resolve. Use that creativity of yours and you’ll find the answers you need.
