Unlike the subject of today’s article, your friendly neighborhood gossip queen Arion has not died! (Or undied, if we’re being technical.) Due to some scheduling mishaps and the state of the world, my interview with Virgil of the Houston Coven had to wait. Now that the dust has settled, I’m here to share with you all the glorious tid-bits given by everyone’s fave vamp-tographer!

Last we gabbed, I detailed an intriguing scene involving Virgil and one Aurilla of the Ferrers Coven. The two recognized one another at the first meeting for the Undead Support Group of this past academic year. One thing led to another–mainly, Virgil calling out Aurilla’s name before she was properly introduced to him, prompting her to run out of the room–and the rest of the school has been wondering what really went on. While I had scored an interview with the freshman Haunter, her answers left me with even more questions… And that, darlings, brought me to Virgil.
It took months just to convince him to agree to an interview, and several weeks of missed appointments and rescheduling until I finally got the vamp in question to sit down for a video call.
Virgil: You’re going to stick to the Haunter rule, right?
Arion: I promise not to directly ask about your human life, or Aurilla’s.
Virgil: [nods] Okay. Go ahead.
Arion: Is it true that on the night in question, you walked into the Undead Support Group meeting and recognized Aurilla?
Virgil: You already know the answer to that.
Arion: Well, yeah, but I’d like to get it on record from you.
Virgil: [sighs] Yes, I recognized Aurilla at the first USG meeting.
Arion: Thank you. Now, all of the witnesses at the scene of the incident say that Aurilla ran out of the room after your said her name out loud. Those same witnesses say that you left the room, immediately, presumably to go after her. Can you explain what your intentions were?
Virgil: I… [pauses] Look, I could tell that she was just as shocked to see me as I was to see her. I can’t speak for her, but I never expected to meet anyone from my human life. I’ve come across other Haunters from around my time, even Haunters I met right after my human death–but her? She was the last person I thought I would see from those days.
Arion: I see. I’m sure it was jarring–but you didn’t answer my question, Virgil. What were your intentions when you ran after Aurilla?
Virgil: I just wanted to let her know that it was okay.
Arion: ‘It’?
Virgil: Or, well… I guess I meant to say, that everything was okay. Between us. As in, I harbor no ill will towards her, even after what happened.
Arion: It sounds like you two were close at some point.
Virgil: It’s not what you think, Arion. She was married to my brother.
Arion: [gasps] No! Really? You and Aurilla were in-laws?
Virgil: We still are, I suppose. They were married when she passed.
Arion: [chuckles] Yeah, but ’til death do us part,’ right?
Virgil: [silence]
Arion: So, you and Aurilla were in-laws. While that can certainly lead to an interesting reunion, I don’t see how that could cause her to run away from you.
Virgil: [pauses] I can’t go into why she ran off.
Arion: Are you saying that you know the reason why she ran away from you?
Virgil: I’m saying I have an inkling, and if I’m right then I can’t talk about it any further.
Arion: Is it because of the Haunter rule about human lives?
Virgil: No, it’s about another Haunter rule. And I can’t tell you what the rule is, because that in and of itself would hint at what I can’t talk about, which would count as breaking the rule. Trust me, this would cause trouble in the undead community.
Arion: [nods] Alright, let’s take a step back from that one, then. You read the article I wrote about the incident with you and Aurilla, correct?
Virgil: Arion, you know that I have. We’ve discussed it at least once a week since you posted it.
Arion: So you’re aware that Aurilla had some questions for you?
Virgil: [frowns] Yeah…
Arion: Would you like for me to refresh your memory on the questions she asked?
Virgil: No, I remember. I guess you want me to answer them?
Arion: If you would be so kind.
Virgil: I took my brother’s name to have something to remember him by. I didn’t take any shortcuts with my trial, I’m just a rare case who finished early… [pauses] And I never found Aurilla at fault for anything, so I’ve no need to forgive her.
And there you have it, lovelies! We uncovered the truth revolving around that awkward incident from back in March of 2020, and that is that Virgil of the Houston Coven and Aurilla of the Ferrers Coven were in-laws in their human life. There’s obviously more to the story, what with the mystery of Virgil’s real name, Aurilla’s guilt, and yet another Haunter rule–but it does appear as if the rest of our questions will have to remain unanswered for the time being. I hope our resident undead photographer and his tiny dancer can grow closer in the coming years.
You never know who will walk back into your life. 😉
Thank you so much for returning for this interview, babes! I promise, I won’t go another long break like that–especially since our current year is about to end, and the new year will begin shortly after. In fact, get ready for some
✨𝓻𝓮𝓰𝓾𝓵𝓪𝓻 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓷𝓽✨ because this winged stallion has so much more lined up for you! As it is, I’m torn on where to start, so I’d appreciate some help ❤️
Once you’ve voted in the poll, all that’s left to do is like this post and comment down below! Poll will close on March 1st at midnight Eastern time. Don’t forget to share this blog with your friends, so they can vote as well. Love you all, kisses!
